Wheat is one of the main crops in Bhopal. In 2018-19, the total area sown area of wheat is 125216 hectares.
“Sharbati” is the most premium type of wheat available in the country. Sharbati is grown in abundance in the area of wheat. The area has a black and alluvial fertile soil which is suitable for the production of Sharbati wheat. Sharbati wheat is also called The Golden Grain, because its color is golden, it looks heavy on the palm and its taste is sweet, hence its name is Sharbati. As the name suggests, the Sharbati variety of wheat is slightly sweeter in the test, probably compared to the other wheat varieties, the amount of simple sugars like glucose and sucrose is high.
Sharbati wheat in Madhya Pradesh is abundant in many districts, including Sehore, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Harda, Ashoknagar, Bhopal and Malwa regions.
